My Top Go-To Books

Pete the Cat – I Love My White Shoes
Art by James Dean / Story by Eric Litwin
Rhythmical & predictable text, great for children just learning to read. Pete’s can-do, positive attitude is also great for encouraging resiliency!

The Book With No Pictures
By B.J. Novak
Hilarious book that proves books don’t need pictures to be fun. This book is great for children transitioning from picture books to books with more text and less/no pictures.

H is for Happy – An Emoji ABC Book of Feelings
By Evan Nimke
This book quickly became one of my new favorites. It uses emojis to discuss social emotional language from A to Z. My students love emojis and naturally took a liking to this book. Makes a great gift for teachers or children as well as a sweet bedtime story to end the day.
